Tourism Minister Kate Jones talked to me about $7 projects funding for Whitsundays

The Whitsunday Regional Council area was smashed by Cyclone Debbie and over the weekend, Federal Minister for Tourism Steven Ciobo and State Minister for Tourism announced $7 million in funding for locations such as Hill Inlet Lookout, walking trails on Border, Langford and Haslewood Islands, enhancement of facilities on Flagstaff Hill at Bowen, and tourism infrastructure at Peter Faust Dam (Lake Proserpine) to enhance tourism experiences - like catching the iconic Barramundi.

I spoke to Minister Kate Jones on 4MK this morning and she said she's never caught a barra - we'll fix that! (press the audio button for the short interview)

Minister Jones also said that an additional $2 million Tourism Recovery Fund grant program opens today in which 100% grant funding for creative projects of $50,000 or more to bring revenue and visitors to the Whitsundays is available to eligible applicants in the Whitsunday local government area - so get online and find out more if you think you may qualify!
