Council CEO Craig Doyle chaired forum on Mirani Community Precinct concept

It started when Pioneer Valley Rotary were looking to build a storage shed on their leased land at Mirani and a group of locals talked about incorporating a Mens Shed - and the Pioneer Valley Classic Car Club mentioned they could be interested in a shed to work on and display cars.

Last night, around 30 people attended a meeting in Mirani to discuss the idea of a "community precinct" which would be the home for various groups - and also become an attraction for visitors and locals.

I spoke to Mackay Regional Council CEO, Craig Doyle who along with 5 councillors attended the meeting - and he was very happy with the community response (press audio button)

The next meeting will be held in February and any community groups in the Pioneer Valley who'd like to be involved should contact Mackay Regional Council and ask for Mr Brian Osborne.
