Mackay's Mayor basically told to "Suck It Up" when asking the Electoral Commission about the cost of the March 2020 elections for ratepayers
Although the state government's plans to introduce optional preferential voting for councillors in the March 2020 election have been shelved, the cost of running the election in the Mackay Local Government area will be double the $400,000 cost of the 2016 election for ratepayers.
I spoke to Mayor Greg Williamson on 4MK before the 2019 Local Government Association of Qld annual conference this week.
