Intruders have searched a South Mackay home and splashed paint through out the living room after unlawfully entering the residence.
Police say they kicked in the locked door of the home on Sophia Street, sometime between 7.00am and 5.30pm last Friday.
The offenders reportedly left a mess after conducting a messy search of the place but nothing has been stolen.

Investigations are ongoing and police are appealing to the public to come forward if they have any information.
Police are urging residents to always report matters as soon as possible if they witness any suspicious activity, at any time of the day.
