Suns Star Extends Contract Ahead Of March Game In Mackay
Gold Coast SUNS midfielder Touk Miller has extended his contract with the club, committing until the end of the 2022 season.
Miller was quick to sign the three-year extension with the SUNS and admitted he was excited by the path that the club was on.
“I couldn’t be happier to sign and lock in my future with the SUNS,” Miller said.
“Gold Coast is home and I’m stoked to be able to continue my career at the club.
“I think we have all the right people and I had no hesitation in committing to the playing group and the program that the club has put in place.”
Miller’s re-signing follows that of David Swallow and Jarrod Witts, who both committed their long-term futures to the club.
“We’ve got a group of boys that are really tight and that’s definitely an environment I want to be around.”
“As a group we want to be playing strong consistent football and I think that everything the Gold Coast offers, gives us the perfect opportunity to do that.”
In a strong message to SUNS members and fans, Miller was confident in the club’s direction.
“The pre-season so far has been challenging, but it’s what we should expect, as a group we feel really well prepared for the AFL Season.”
“There has been significant change at the club, but our members and fans should be really excited by the level of commitment everyone is showing to help drive this club forward.” Miller said.
The 22-year-old played every game last season and finished runner up in the club’s Best and Fairest.
Originally drafted by the club with pick 29 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, Miller has been a member of Gold Coast’s leadership group for the past two seasons.
The news comes as the Suns prepare to play the Western Bulldogs JLT Game in Mackay on Sunday March 3.
