Man Accused Of Shooting Fellow Motorist With Gel Blaster Gun

An 18-year-old North Mackay man has been arrested and charged following an incident on Mackay Bucasia Road in Rural View on February 17.

It’s alleged a 17-year-old girl was driving in-bound to Mackay when a male passenger in another vehicle allegedly used a gel blaster gun to shoot a pellet at the girl which struck her on the arm.

Both vehicles travelled to the Mackay Police Station where the occupants of both cars were spoken to by police.

Police will allege they located a gel blaster gun inside the vehicle in which the North Mackay man was a passenger.

He was arrested and charged with common assault and possession of an implement used to injure a person and is due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on March 18.
