A man's accused of wandering around a licenced venue at Airlie Beach, picking up people's drinks and downing them in front of them.

It's claimed the brazen acts were carried out at a venue on Shute Harbour Road at about 10.40pm on Saturday.

Security personnel responded and attempted to remove the 31-year-old Airlie Beach man but it would seem he wasn't ready to leave.

A short time later, Police entered the venue and arrested the man who was then transported to the Whitsunday Police Station where he was issued with a fine for failing to leave licensed premises.  He has to pay $652.
