Ag Businesses Urged To Enter Expo

Ag businesses throughout the regions of Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday are being urged to book their sites early for the Canegrowers Mackay Ag Trade Expo at Wests Leagues Club, with the third annual event just months away.

Event coordinator Julie Mills said in coming weeks, preparations would speed up and continue to ensure Mackay regions only all-of-agriculture two-day event was a success for all visiting primary producers, community and exhibitors.

“Last year was a huge success and I’ve had fantastic feedback from exhibitors that they all had great results from attending the two day event.” Mrs Mills said.

“This year we’re expecting a much bigger and better show and we can’t wait to show everyone what we have planned!”

“Our expectation is that we’ll have a minimum of 150 exhibitors with everything from drones, heavy machinery, technology, equipment and tools to ag bikes, insurance, rural supplies, live entertainment, auctions, raffles and give-aways ensuring we have something for all age groups from our primary production sector, but also community interested in learning more about the primary industries in our region. Visitors can expect diversity, so there will also be things like troughs, gates, fencing, tyres, soil health and a lot more.”

Mrs Mills said there were many highlights to last year’s event in addition to each of the exhibitors bringing their own specials, demonstrations, products, machinery and merchandise.

“As with last year we’ll have plenty of food available to on the grounds and in the clubhouse, but we’ll also have live cooking shows.”

“We’ll have entertainment for the kids with Old MacDonald’s Travelling Farm, jumping castles and Miss Becky’s Balloons – there will be plenty of fun for the kids while mum and dad get to have a good look around.”

Importantly, Mrs Mills said, the expo promised to deliver a broad range of exhibitors to primary producers from all ag sectors with the latest trends, innovation and technology ‘regardless of what you grow or raise’.

“Everyone attending the expo will go into the draw to win a Honda generator valued at $2,500, and this will be drawn on the Saturday at 3pm.”

“This expo is all about showcasing and celebrating agriculture, and we are proud to host this event at a location that is easily accessible from all directions.

“We’re urging exhibitors to get in now to ensure a smooth registration process avoiding the last-minute rush. This makes it easier for us to ensure we design our exhibition site to better suit our exhibitors and our visitors, and we can get important exhibitor information back to them in a timely manner.”
