Locals Lucky To Be Alive After Large Rock Thrown At Their Car

A large rock has been thrown at a moving car in the Mackay City area.  

At about 6pm on May 17, a vehicle was being driven on Gordon Street, between Macalister Street and Wellington Street, when a passenger spotted a person carrying a large rock.

They allegedly shifted from a roadside garden bed onto the roadway where they threw the rock at the moving car.  

The missile hit the front passenger side mirror, door and window causing damage. Nobody was injured.

The person alleged to have thrown the large rock is described as being male, roughly five feet tall, large build, wearing a dark coloured t-shirt with writing on the front and also wearing cargo pants.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage from this time is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.
