High speed incident, Eimeo

Police allege that a motorcycle was caught travelling at a speed almost twice the posted speed limit in Eimeo.

At about 7.07am Tuesday, June 30, officers were performing speed enforcement patrols on Camilleri Street between Admiral Drive and Hermitage Avenue in Eimeo, when they stopped a Yamaha motorcycle.

Police allege that the driver, a 41-year-old Blacks Beach man, was travelling at 117km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The rider was issued with an on the spot fine of $1,245 and lost eight demerit points.

His drivers licence will also be suspended for a period of six months.
