Charges laid after drugs and rifle found in car in South Mackay

Two people are accused of loading up their station wagon with drugs, guns and a taser after police pulled them over in South Mackay.

Officers intercepted the car during a patrol on Amiet Street yesterday afternoon, when they say they found ice, cannabis, drug utensils, a rifle, taser, and more than $13,000 in cash.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, as well as possessing weapons. He is due in court today.

A 37-year-old woman has been issued with a Notice to Appear in court for possessing dangerous drugs and utensils.

She is expected to face the Mackay Magistrates Court, on February 16.
