Man charged over Mackay car jacking

Police have charged a man, after a woman was allegedly car jacked in Mount Pleasant.

It will be alleged the man forced a 34-year-old woman out of her four-wheel-drive in Phillip Street at about 10:30am on Wednesday, by making threats while pointing a concealed object at her.

Police report they tried to stop the vehicle on two occasions, but caught up with the accused driver on Thursday.
The 25-year-old South Mackay man was charged with three counts of evasion and one count each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving unlicensed. 
He's due to face court on Friday.
A 25-year-old Andergrove woman, alleged to be an associate of the man, was also arrested and charged unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.
She's due in Court next month.
