Woman trapped in car collision in Mackay

Firefighters have cut free a woman who was trapped in her vehicle after a serious two-vehicle crash on Mackay-Eungella Road.

Emergency crews were called to the crash, near Pleystowe, where the two cars collided just before 9:00am.

It took firefighters around 40 minutes to free the woman, aged in her 20s.

She has leg injuries and is in Mackay Hospital in a stable condition.

Another woman in her 20s and a child were also assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital in stable conditions.

The woman has neck pain, while the child was taken as a precaution.

Traffic along Mackay-Eungella Road reduced to one lane following the crash, but it has now been cleared.
