Residents urged to keep a lookout for vandals
Vandals have targeted Lamberts Lookout for the third time in six months, forcing Mackay Council to look at alternative options for rubbish collection.
The latest incident saw a waste bin dumped and pushed off the cliff.
Last time the site was vandalised signs were uprooted and tossed over the cliff.
Mayor Greg Williamson says general waste bins at the site had been destroyed, stolen and vandalised repeatedly.
“This type of behaviour is rubbish, and it is something that as a community we shouldn't have to tolerate,” he says.
Residents are being urged to report any suspicious behaviour to Policelink on 131 444.
