Car stolen after home break-in, North Mackay

A North Mackay resident has witnessed their car being stolen from the driveway, after the thief allegedly broke into their home.

A Queensland Police spokesperson says it happened around 5:20am on Thursday.

"The resident of a house in Malcomson Street, North Mackay, allegedly witnessed their car being stolen from the driveway," the spokesperson says.

"An unknown person had previously entered the house and stolen multiple sets of keys from the lounge room."

"One of these sets of keys was used to enter a silver coloured 2013 model Jeep Grand Cherokee with registration plates 743 TCW, that was parked in the driveway."

Police are urging anyone who has information about the location of the car, or the offence itself to come forward.

Anyone who has information about the current location of the stolen car or the offence itself is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.
