A stolen car has been found burnt near Foulden.

The Holden rodeo dual cab was nicked from a home in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday and also used in a fuel drive off at a nearby servo.

Around 8:00 last night the car was found parked in cane fields on Maraju Yakapari Road, engulfed in flames.

The car was deliberately set alight, leading to the burning of approximately four acres of nearby sugar cane.

The fire was fully extinguished by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).

Anyone who may have information about either the original break in and car theft, or the abandoning of the car in the cane field and being set alight, is encouraged to come forward.
