Road closed after serious crash near Ron Camm Bridge

Police are hunting for a driver after a road worker was hit by a suspected stolen SUV at Mount Pleasant this morning. 
 
The man in his 30s died after he was struck at a worksite on the Ron Camm Bridge around 4.50am. 
 
A police spokesperson says the car involved was found an hour later abandoned at Petrie Street but officers are still looking for the driver.
 
Northbound lanes at the bridge heading to Glenella are expected to remain close. 
 
Diversions have been set up via Edmund Casey Bridge, Forgan Smith Bridge and Ring Road bypass.
 
Southbound lanes are open.

A man has died after being hit by a suspected stolen SUV at Mount Pleasant. 
 
The man in his 30s was working as traffic controller at a worksite near the Ron Camm Bridge when he was struck around 4:50 this morning. 
 
A police spokesperson says the car fled the scene shortly after. 
 
Investigators are now working to track down the offender.

Police have now confirmed a person has died after being hit by a car at a Bruce Highway worksite. 
 
It is being treated as a hit and run.
 
Northbound lanes at the Ron Camm Bridge are expected to remain closed with investigations continuing.

There's been a serious crash on the Ron Camm Bridge this morning. 
 
The Forensic Crash Unit is at the scene after a person was hit by a car around 4:50am. 
 
A police spokesperson says the person was on a Bruce Highway worksite when they were hit. 
 
The northbound lanes of the highway remains closed with no diversions in place. 
 
The southbound laned are still open.
