A dog has been impounded by council after it allegedly attacked a lady walking her dog at Blacks Beach.

The shocking attack allegedly happened today just after 7.30am when police were called to the scene.

A dog, lady and another person were injured in the incident, according to Mackay Regional Council.

"We understand a lady was walking her dog when the attacking dog wandered up and attacked,” council’s health and regulatory services manager Craig Shepherd says.

“The lady required treatment at the hospital.

"An on-call local laws officer was called out and impounded the dog that allegedly attacked.”

The council has left a message with the owner of the attacking dog.
