NSW woman killed in Hamilton Island golf buggy crash

Investigations into a fatal golf buggy crash in the Whitsunday region are underway.

A 29-year-old New South Wales woman was a passenger in the registered vehicle, when it rolled while doing a U-turn on Hamilton Island.

A spokesperson for Queensland Police Service says it happened at Whitsunday Boulevard as the golf buggy was approaching Coral Sea Avenue, around 4.30pm on Monday.

"The 29-year-old woman from NSW died at the scene," the spokesperson says.

"The male driver was not physically injured in the incident.

"Investigations are continuing."
