Man caught hiding in NSW golf course pond
A man has been caught hiding "submerged" in a pond on a golf course following a robbery on the NSW Central Coast.
Detectives say the 35-year-old robbed the North Gosford business on Monday morning after demanding a worker open the safe.
He then stole that man's car and drove off before crashing into another car and fleeing towards Narara Creek.
He swam across the creek, authorities say, and entered Gosford Golf Club.
"Police attended and a search of the area commenced with the assistance of PolAir and the dog unit," a police spokesman said in a statement.
"The man was located and arrested a short time later submerged in a pond within the golf course."
Police say they subsequently searched the pond and found a bag containing cash and other items in the mud.
The 35-year-old was taken to Gosford Hospital and is expected to be charged.
