Four people have been killed in crashes in the Mackay region, less than 12 hours apart.
A head-on crash on Mackay Ring Road at Glenella just after 10.40pm Friday saw two 19-year-old boys and a 19-year-old girl killed.
Police say the teens were in a Mazda 2 was trying to overtake a semi-trailer when it crashed into a Great Wall Cannon travelling in the opposite direction.
A 29-year-old man driving the Great Wall was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a serious condition.
Then around 10.15am Saturday, a motorcycle crashed into a trailer near the intersection of Mackay Bucasia Road and the Bruce Highway at Mount Pleasant.
The rider, a 45-year-old man, died at the scene.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations into both crashes are continuing.
