A man accused of a drug manufacturing ring in Central Queensland has been hit with 30 charges.
It follows a joint investigation between Australian Border Force (ABF) and Central Region detectives that was launched when ABF officers seized multiple air cargo consignments containing dangerous drugs and ammunition destined for central Queensland.
Search warrants were executed between 23 and 26 February at Baffle Creek and Dysart.
On 26 February, detectives allegedly uncovered a large quantity of drug utensils, a sawn-off shotgun, ammo, firearm parts, a crossbow, and approximately $7,000 in cash at a Dysart property.
At a Baffle Creek address, police allegedly located a hidden drug lab with drug making equipment within a large shipping container.
Moranbah detectives arrested a 53-year-old man on April 1 and searched a Dysart address allegedly finding cannabis, GBH and 75grams of meth.
The man has been charged with 30 offences including nine counts of possessing dangerous drugs, five counts of possessing relevant substance or things, four counts of unlawful possession of weapons, three counts each of possessing anything used in the connection of crime, and possessing utensils, two counts of possessing tainted property (currency), and one count each of producing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine), publishing or possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs, possessing S4 / S8 medicines, and possessing explosives.
He remains in custody and due to appear at Moranbah Magistrates Court tomorrow.
