A young man has been killed and another is fighting for life after a two-car crash at Mount Pleasant.
Around 1am Saturday, a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan was travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway when it collided with a semi-trailer turning onto Sams Road.
An 18-year-old man suffered critical injuries and died at the scene, while another 18-year-old man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was not injured.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who have relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing.
