Guns, ammo and drugs found during traffic stop

A man has allegedly been busted with guns, ammo and drugs in his car at Sarina.

Just before 9pm, January 24, police conducting patrols in the area intercepted a brown Holden Captiva on Hans Christian Street.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered two shortened firearms, four shotgun shells, and a quantity of cannabis.

A 41-year-old Oakenden man was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of weapons (short firearm in public), and one count each of possess modified firearm, authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), possessing utensils that had been used, possessing utensils for use and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear before Sarina Magistrates Court on March 9.
