A 29 year old Mackay man has been charged after an alleged carjacking on a Mackay street.
Police say the man approached a vehicle on Juliet Street on Sunday afternoon armed with a knife.
It’s alleged the man made stabbing motions before trying to open the door, eventually fleeing.
“The male person, police will allege, has made a number of stabbing motions at the victim,” Detective senior sergeant Chris Eaton said.
“The victim has fought back but was uninjured, the offender has run from the scene,” he said.
News Corp reporting police arrested him at a Mackay home on Sunday – he’s since been charged with attempted armed robbery.
He was due to appear in court on Monday
