Motorcyclist found with drugs and weapons

An Andergrove man is facing drugs and weapons charges after he was intercepted by police.

Around 1am yesterday, police stopped the man on his motorbike, after he was allegedly seen driving dangerously on Prospect Street in Mackay.

During a search of the 33-year-old man’s backpack, police allegedly found a firearm, a taser, ammunition, and quantities of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

The man has been charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, and unlawful possession of weapons, and one count each of receiving tainted property, authority required to possess explosives, and contravention of a domestic violence order.

He is due to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
