A 22-year-old man is accused of a violent, attempted robbery near Nebo which left a young woman with serious injuries.
It is alleged that two men entered an Oxford Downs Sarina Road address and confronted a female resident last week.
The 22-year-old woman was restrained and assaulted before the men left the scene without any property.
She was flown to Mackay Base Hospital with serious chest injuries.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on November 22, and has been charged with two counts each of assaults occasioning bodily harm whilst in company, deprivation of liberty, and common assault, and one count each of enter dwelling with intent uses/threatens violence in company, attempted robbery – use/threaten violence in company, unlawful use of motor vehicles, and wilful damage.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Moranbah Magistrates Court on January 22, 2026.
Police are seeking to locate a second man who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
