Princess Eugenie has announced she is expecting her third child with husband Jack Brooksbank, with Buckingham Palace confirming the baby is due to arrive later this northern summer. The couple shared the news in a short palace statement released overnight, marking another milestone for the extended royal family.

In the statement, the palace said Eugenie and Brooksbank were “very pleased” to be expanding their family once again, adding that their sons, August and Ernest, are “very excited” about welcoming a new sibling. King Charles has been informed of the pregnancy and is said to be delighted by the news.

Eugenie also shared the announcement on social media, posting a rare photo of her two sons holding an ultrasound image, alongside the caption “Baby Brooksbank due 2026”. The couple usually keep their children largely out of the spotlight, making the family snap a notable and warmly received moment for royal watchers.

The baby will be the couple’s third child, joining August, born in February 2021, and Ernest, who arrived in May 2023. Eugenie and Brooksbank married in October 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, just months after Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding at the same venue.

The new arrival will sit 15th in line to the British throne, though, like their siblings, is not expected to carry the title of Royal Highness. Eugenie is the younger daughter of Sarah Ferguson and the former Prince Andrew, and a niece of King Charles.

The pregnancy announcement comes at a time of heightened public scrutiny surrounding the York family, making the news a rare moment of celebration. For Eugenie and Brooksbank, it signals a happy new chapter as they prepare to welcome baby number three later this year.
