A car theft at Andergrove is under investigation.
It will be alleged that in the early hours of Monday morning, an offender gained entry to a home and took a set of car keys.
The thieves were thwarted however, because the vehicle the keys belonged to was blocked in by another vehicle at the time.
At about 11.30am that same day, it’s alleged three people were seen in the yard of the address before being confronted by the resident and fleeing.
Police say the group returned around 4.30pm, and stole an Isuzu Mu-X using the stolen keys.
The stolen vehicle was found abandoned on Ambrose Way in North Mackay at about 6pm.
Anyone who might have information about this incident is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.
Police also remind residents to store their car keys in secure and out of sight locations within their home, particularly during night time hours.
