Investigations are underway after a handbag was stolen from a car in Mackay City.
Around 4pm Monday, the driver left the vehicle briefly to carry a sleeping child into a nearby house on Brisbane Street.
When they returned, the handbag containing identification, bank cards and an iPad had been stolen from the front seat.

Police say two females have used the stolen bank cards to buy items at a nearby licensed venue.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
