An alleged intruder has fled from police after after breaking into a business in South Mackay.
Officers say they interrupted a man on Shakespeare Street at around 4.43am yesterday.
The intruder forced entry via the rear door to the building and once inside they carried a container out of the business before re-entering.
He was interrupted by police arriving at the scene, while carrying another container.
The man allegedly ran at the officer while attempting to flee, which resulted in the officer tumbling to the ground and receiving an injury to their wrist.
Police say the intruder then scaled a nearby fence.
Despite the police dog squad being activated, an attempt to track the intruder through multiple residential yards was not successful.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
Police say the intruder is described as being approximately 25 years of age, with a shaved head and moustache, wearing a black top and blue work pants with a reflective strip.
