Police are searching for a person who broke into a unit in Mackay City.
They say the offender climbed onto a unit balcony on River Street between 2.00 – 3.00am on Wednesday.
Once inside, the person searched the lounge room and kitchen.
They stole several items including a work bag, running shoes, handbag and also a wallet.
Anyone who might have information about this matter is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.
Thieves are often prepared to be creative in their efforts to access elevated balconies.
Police continue to encourage residents to ensure doors and windows in these locations are secured, especially during night-time hours.
